YouTube Celebrities are “Hot Properties”
Just what some of the popular personalities on YouTube needed. The NYTimes is calling them “hot properties,” and providing examples of some YouTube “weblebrities” getting courted by other sites. Indeed there’s been at least one example of this with Smosh, a creator who was paid to move from YouTube (where he still posts) to LiveVideo….
The More Drunk, the More Press
Hat’s off to Eddie, also known as TheMightyThor1212 and “Evil Willie Wonka.” When I arrived at this weekend’s DCTube Gathering (see my video about some of the freaks I met), I was cautioned by attendees that Eddie had his fair share of booze and had been asked to leave a Washington Post interview. Event planners…
90 Percent of Online Video Sites Will Disappear
In this San Francisco Chronicle article by Ellen Lee, Charles River Venture Capitalist George Zachary predicts that 90 percent of online video sites will disappear. Some will simply shut down; others will be gobbled up by larger companies. (Brief ad here- if anyone wants to gobble up CubeBreak, make an offer… I just got a…
Chad Hurley (co-founder of YouTube) and Michael Robertson (counder of MP3.com)
Here’s a video from ZDNet that features part of a round table about consumer-generated media at the AlwaysOn Stanford Summit in Palo Alto, Calif. At first I’m bored by Chad. Then Michael kicks in, and I almost think we’ll have an intelligent debate. But it seems like the themes are: YouTube is creating a stage…
The Profile of a Second Life User
I tried Second Life last weekend, and was so perplexed I decided to spoof it in this video called “Drunk Naked Flying in Second Life.”Β The video viralinated (became a top video in the “Gadget and Games” section), and I started receiving dozens of friend invites from people (I’m named “Nalts Writer” on Second Life but…

Okay, NOW do I have a shot in hell of getting one of my comments into the I videos???? (Must think of something good. . . .)
I spotted it first π
haven’t been watching, but now i’m intrigued… lots of good elements: viewer participation, good writing, shot well, acted well and they seem to be evolving.
i tried to sit through episode 1 and couldn’t deal – too long, shots were drawn out, etc. I skipped all the way to episode 15 and kinda get it.
The Nalts brigade is now taking over ichannel’s comments. Few people are actually posting responses to i, relative to the people talking about Nalts. π I tried to do a bit of both.
Who? Wha? Man, I’m so far out of the loop I feel like I’ve left the country without my passport.
I know somebody who lost her passport while out of the country. I wouldn’t recommend it.
Mike’s right about the comments π
I KNEW the voice sounded formilar on the phone message!! tricky nalts…tricky
Marquis – just click on the “it is i” link in Nalts’ post above and all will become clear.
Wow! Can I get you to do a cameo in our show?
By the way, Nalts Fans, May 12th is Nalts’ birthday.
If I had the wherewithall, I’d set up one of those fancy video response thingies on Revver and YouTube and have people sing Happy Birthday to him.
Instead, I’ll just put a candle in a bag of Fat-free Doritos with Olean and watch it burn…

Your mom likes butter

Is this “I like butter” comment going to be another one of those things I need nutcheese to explain to me on stickam? I am so old . . . .
