What I Learned from Being Featured on YouTube
I may be on vacation, but I’ve learned a lot in the past 24 hours since I was featured on YouTube (with Viral Video Genius). Let me share these with WillVideoForFood readers… YouTubers think this is a “you’ve made it” move, and I’ve received dozens of really encouraging notes from folks. The people in the…
Google Displays “Video” in Search Options
Google is taking one more step to getting serious about online video. Getting real estate on the homepage of Google is like trying to install a golf course in Manhattan. But once you’ve searched something, you’ll notice a “Video: New” icon that allows you to refine your search. See below for example. The searches appear…
The Best of Cats on Skateboards (YouTube Advertising)
It’s the biggest myth of online-video advertising. If a brand advertises on YouTube it will appear with consumer-generated media that includes such content as cats on skateboarders. TVweek’s “New Media Minute,” hosted by Daisy Whitney, featured a recent interview with YouTube’s Jordan Hoffner to set the record straight (via WebVideoReport). Naturally I couldn’t resist a…
Men Are Pigs. Pigs Watch Videos.
I just spent some time surfing the YouTube “insights” data to see what videos attracted men versus women. Oddly the “First Pregnant Man” was a precise split (50/50). Not surprisingly, more men preferred “Dying Roach.” But the biggest chasm in gender viewing was “Best of Naked Vlogging.” That fairly popular video (which is the first…
What’s Better than Free AND Royalty-Free Music & Sound Effects?
What’s better than my previous list of free and royalty-free music and sound effects? A longer list, which includes video effects too! Thanks to you, we’ve got a few new ones to share. Let me remind you that I’m tagging this entry “hellen keller” so we can all find it easily later using the Orb…

Topping OldSpice and Evian, the most-viewed online-video advertiser is Blendtec, according to “The Top 10 Viral Ads of All Time,” by AdAge (AdvertisingAge) and VisibleMeasures. Seriously we’re not tired of it. Here’s the page on YouTube where you can sort videos and channels by most-viewed , most-liked, most-subscribed by day, week, month, all time. Find…

Okay, NOW do I have a shot in hell of getting one of my comments into the I videos???? (Must think of something good. . . .)
I spotted it first 😛
haven’t been watching, but now i’m intrigued… lots of good elements: viewer participation, good writing, shot well, acted well and they seem to be evolving.
i tried to sit through episode 1 and couldn’t deal – too long, shots were drawn out, etc. I skipped all the way to episode 15 and kinda get it.
The Nalts brigade is now taking over ichannel’s comments. Few people are actually posting responses to i, relative to the people talking about Nalts. 🙂 I tried to do a bit of both.
Who? Wha? Man, I’m so far out of the loop I feel like I’ve left the country without my passport.
I know somebody who lost her passport while out of the country. I wouldn’t recommend it.
Mike’s right about the comments 🙂
I KNEW the voice sounded formilar on the phone message!! tricky nalts…tricky
Marquis – just click on the “it is i” link in Nalts’ post above and all will become clear.
Wow! Can I get you to do a cameo in our show?
By the way, Nalts Fans, May 12th is Nalts’ birthday.
If I had the wherewithall, I’d set up one of those fancy video response thingies on Revver and YouTube and have people sing Happy Birthday to him.
Instead, I’ll just put a candle in a bag of Fat-free Doritos with Olean and watch it burn…
I like butter
Your mom likes butter
found you through youtube…funneh.
oh, I like this!
Is this “I like butter” comment going to be another one of those things I need nutcheese to explain to me on stickam? I am so old . . . .
