“No Camera” is No Excuse to Skip YouTube Anymore
Sure we’ve heard all of the excuses why you’re watching YouTube but not creating your own videos:
- I have nothing interesting to add
- I don’t have a camera
- I don’t want my life online
Sure we’ve heard all of the excuses why you’re watching YouTube but not creating your own videos:
Watch the video Here’s my rant about YouTube’s business model. I’ll be setting up a tab above for the votes about when YouTube’s bubble will burst. This video was originally shared on blip.tv by nalts with a No license (All rights reserved) license.
Interesting article from PBS MediaShift about the nuances of the YouTube homepage. As many have discovered, an editor’s pick on YouTube is a career-changing moment. Take Mark Day with his Smiley Intervention. He’s transformed from a local California comedian to an “web-lebrity.” I have nightmares about his bald face against a yellow wall. This MediaShift piece also clarifies…
Mary Hoddler (Napsterization) collected some interesting stats during Friday's SuperNova event. Check them out here. Courtesy of Heather Green from Business Week Online. What she forgot to mention was that Chapter11TV just received 2nd round funding of $6.5 million from venture-capital firm Sequoia Capital (the firm behind YouTube.com). Watch out YouTube!
A lot of journalists will let their subjects wander aimlessly about a story. But you have to give Jamison Tilzner, of Tilzy.tv, kudos for getting right to the story. As “Hooking Up” writer Woody Tondorf waxes poetically about some of the second-rate YouTube weblebrities appearing in the HBOLabs web series (which is now featured on…
No knocking Kevin MacLeod from Incompetech.com. He’s saved us from many default musical loops and countless copyright infringements. But now and then, we need a bit of variety. Most people really don’t have anything interesting to add. What’s wrong with not making videos anyway? If people don’t want to, I can’t see any reason why they should.
If only I took the time to read your posts, I might be a better creator…..nah.
Matt, if you only POSTED videos you’d be a better creator. We already determined you are hilarious at pattytube.
Yeah, i’ll be sure to pass this news on to my 80 year old senile mother, who will reply ‘who are you? Im sorry, gotta go, this is the time I like to wander.’
Holy fuck did you just buy a computer?
Hahahahaha!
This is WONDERFUL!! Now the stupid knuckle-dragging inbred popcornhead mouthbreather crap will multiply exponentially to infinity and beyond!!!
Xtranormal is no longer free (I know, becuase we USED to use it here at the middle school), so I doubt that’ll get much play from the masses. Go Animate is pretty cool, if you like limb-less characters (they have heads, torsos, hands & feet, but no arms or legs connecting the appendages to the torso; kinda creepy. But right up your alley, sukatra!).
