“No Camera” is No Excuse to Skip YouTube Anymore
Sure we’ve heard all of the excuses why you’re watching YouTube but not creating your own videos:
- I have nothing interesting to add
- I don’t have a camera
- I don’t want my life online
Sure we’ve heard all of the excuses why you’re watching YouTube but not creating your own videos:
Buzzfeed featured my YouTube prank antics in an article today titled “An Early Dad YouTuber Reflects On The Viral Prank Videos That Made Him Famous — And Ones He’s Since Decided To Delete.” It’s part of an ongoing series by Tanya Chen about YouTube and pranks. I discuss some of my experience with pranks, and…
The power of YouTube’s ability to commercialize is not based on the homepage, but “The Secret Sauce.” Here’s a glimpse into it, and what you can do to advantage yourself.
Prank your bro, friends. The folks from College Humor are issuing a prank challenge. Check out the video for details. And don’t forget these are the folks that brought you the amazingly funny basketball half-court prank (check it out if you haven’t seen it).
You know ASecondChanceAround from YouTube? Give her a MILF vote on “Hot Moms.” It’s a mother’s day contest, and she was submitted by her daughter. 🙂
Here’s a piece I wrote for iMediaConnection about measuring and communicating social media. My key point is that a) it IS measurable, and b) it needs to be tied to things that matter for various stakeholders: marketing, PR, advertising, executives.
When you leave town do you have someone watch your house? And your MySpace account? Here’s a wonderfully self depricating piece called “House Sitting,” by Mo Collins (MadTV, 40 Year Old Virgin). She spoofs her own neurosis and her career, and it’s a fantastic low-budget irreverent piece. Via Revver blog.

Most people really don’t have anything interesting to add. What’s wrong with not making videos anyway? If people don’t want to, I can’t see any reason why they should.
If only I took the time to read your posts, I might be a better creator…..nah.
Matt, if you only POSTED videos you’d be a better creator. We already determined you are hilarious at pattytube.
Yeah, i’ll be sure to pass this news on to my 80 year old senile mother, who will reply ‘who are you? Im sorry, gotta go, this is the time I like to wander.’
Holy fuck did you just buy a computer?
Hahahahaha!
This is WONDERFUL!! Now the stupid knuckle-dragging inbred popcornhead mouthbreather crap will multiply exponentially to infinity and beyond!!!
Xtranormal is no longer free (I know, becuase we USED to use it here at the middle school), so I doubt that’ll get much play from the masses. Go Animate is pretty cool, if you like limb-less characters (they have heads, torsos, hands & feet, but no arms or legs connecting the appendages to the torso; kinda creepy. But right up your alley, sukatra!).
