When Are Pranks Funny and When Are They Mean?
Buzzfeed featured my YouTube prank antics in an article today titled “An Early Dad YouTuber Reflects On The Viral Prank Videos That Made Him Famous β And Ones Heβs Since Decided To Delete.” It’s part of an ongoing series by Tanya Chen about YouTube and pranks.
I discuss some of my experience with pranks, and when they’re funny and when they cross the line. Enjoy. And comment below. This blog has been dark for years.
My favorite “pranks” are the ones that rely on a confused response to an absurdity rather than a fearful or angry response to a perceived threat (Airport Crawling instead of Scary Maze Game).
Yea me too!
I still subscribe to you on RSS! Love me some Nalts!
YT and Instagram are littered with fake prank videos these days…mostly the rick lax kind π Yeah, they’ve mastered the art of sucking in viewers, but the payoff is always lame. Bring back pranks that drive actual laughs!
Thanks! π
