Video Marketing for Dummies

My publisher, Wiley, just published “Video Marketing for Dummies.” It’s more aimed at small companies and focuses not just on marketing but production.

Oh sorry. I suppose I could have just e-mailed the folks at The Onion, but it’s just as easy to blog them. And hope their social-media monitoring tools dig deep enough to find this blog (ranked just below the left-handed lesbians’ jewelry accessory blog). BRING BACK PUNDIT JOAD CRESSBECKLE (seen here expressing his concern about humanized potatoes)… To…
Well after two years of trying to evangelize amateur video, it would appear that Fred and Sharon have done more in this two-minute video titled “Who Needs a Movie.” They inspire, generate ideas, and provide passion that I’ve lacked. As film maker Dawn Westlake said, “OMG! I’m packin’ it in. How can anyone who’s legit…
The next time I speak at a conference and I ask “who’s heard of Fred?” and “who’s heard of Annoying Orange?” you’d better raise your hand. Happy Birthday to Annoying Orange, who was created by Daneboe a year ago. In its first year of life the orange with a human mouth and face is the…
Here’s the “baby monkey” riding backwards on a pig song on YouTube… the one for which you’ve searched your whole life. You can buy “monkey on pig” song on iTunes too, and I did so just to support the singer (ParryGripp). Note that he’s not riding on a dog, which might have been your impression…
I now proclaim the phrase, “Pulling a Bruno.” Sacha Baron Cohen, who stared in the $150 million Borat sensation, saw his latest film plateau in the box office after a strong start from hard-core fans… presumably not motivated to evangelize the film to the mass market. You can use those three words, “Pulling a Bruno”…
I’m going to give you a free social-media makeover here, folks. I may not live in social media Heaven, but I’ve had a few “follow the bright light” moments, and have returned with some important messages from Above. First- get on Twitter. Microblogging short sentences from the web or your text-enabled phone may seem pointless,…

Um, I don’t see a link to a video!
Fixed
How much of it was copied from your book?
May I please send it to you so you can determine that?
hmmm i wonder if you would get sued if you changed the title of your book…. *wipes smarmite on this comment*
Omg I can’t believe you used the word ‘smarmiest’. I love a man with a big vocabulary.
I think that guy needs some advice from page 356. Bad editing. That video is waaaaay too long.
I bet your farts smell like rainbows and unicorns. Xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo.
I’ll bet unicorns don’t smell nice.
This book is for Dummies. Says so right in the title.
I’m a big fan of Nalts and also a purchaser of his book last year. I also had the opportunity to work with the four co-authors of “Video Marketing for Dummies” on the production of their book. Not only are they quite complementary, but good reads. I’d add these two, plus Steve Garfield’s and Greg Jarboe’s to the video marketer’s book shelf. If you’d like a video overview of the book with a customer example, you can find it at http://www.pixability.com/pixabilitytv#pixtv20.

What kind of marketing / production does it offer?
