Video Marketing for Dummies

My publisher, Wiley, just published “Video Marketing for Dummies.” It’s more aimed at small companies and focuses not just on marketing but production.

Honestly I don’t want to summarize this Speaker Text press release (via Tim Post) because it reads like a crisp short story (see Post’s writeup). I’d feel like I was Cliff Noting a classic and depriving you of the experience of reading about a company as if you were between chapters of a Grisham novel…
Right now you may channel surf between 100 to 500 channels, according to this article from The Mercury News. But Internet protocol television (IPTV) — television broadcast over the Internet — could change that. An estimated 49 million Americans already have the gear and broadband connections needed to receive IPTV, and this will allow for…
(This blog traffic thing is so mercurial).
Imagine a year ago if I told you that Fox Broadcasting would be promoting its debut television shows via online-video personalities (see press release) that were unknown before sites like YouTube. And that Hulu, a network site, would promote on the Superbowl. I’m the “chief strategical officer” for Hitviews, so I can’t cover this objectively….
AdAge and Visible Measures reports that this Burger King “Square Butts” Spongebob parody of “Big Butts” is the third most “viral” commercial of the week. And this makes me so very sad.
Max Kalehoff, VP of Nielsen BuzzMetrics, is calling this year’s Superbowl the one of “Marketer-Consumer Co-Creation.” In an article for MediaPost, Kalehoff cites examples like GM’s recruiting fledgling college talent and Frito-Lay’s contest for a 30-second ad – the winner will air during the Superblowl. Kalehoff poses 6 questions as the ad industry preps for…

Um, I don’t see a link to a video!
Fixed
How much of it was copied from your book?
May I please send it to you so you can determine that?
hmmm i wonder if you would get sued if you changed the title of your book…. *wipes smarmite on this comment*
Omg I can’t believe you used the word ‘smarmiest’. I love a man with a big vocabulary.
I think that guy needs some advice from page 356. Bad editing. That video is waaaaay too long.
I bet your farts smell like rainbows and unicorns. Xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo.
I’ll bet unicorns don’t smell nice.
This book is for Dummies. Says so right in the title.
I’m a big fan of Nalts and also a purchaser of his book last year. I also had the opportunity to work with the four co-authors of “Video Marketing for Dummies” on the production of their book. Not only are they quite complementary, but good reads. I’d add these two, plus Steve Garfield’s and Greg Jarboe’s to the video marketer’s book shelf. If you’d like a video overview of the book with a customer example, you can find it at http://www.pixability.com/pixabilitytv#pixtv20.

What kind of marketing / production does it offer?
