My publisher, Wiley, just published “Video Marketing for Dummies.” It’s more aimed at small companies and focuses not just on marketing but production.

… when maybe one person will read it for every 10,000 people that watch my videos? Oh- I remember now. It’s the profit from the ads I sell around these words.

Let’s pretend we all share a common definition of social media. Video’s role toward that should be obvious. It’s another way to be social, and arguably more media. While online-video isn’t all social, it’s hard to imagine having a robust social-media presence without video. At the least, video is more social than the written word,…
This video on Break takes a while to develop, but we see a Memphis audience member on stage who can’t control his wacky laugh. The audience is in stitches. Funniest Laugh Ever.
In imagining future “always broadcasting” scenarios, I could have not conceived such a hysterical one. The Onion (have I mentioned it’s the best written comedy evah?) reports on police changing the cause ruling of a NYU dorm fire… “after examining the evidence from 25 iPhones, 15 blackberries, 10 video cameras and 40 digital cameras obtained…

I’m a big fan of Nalts and also a purchaser of his book last year. I also had the opportunity to work with the four co-authors of “Video Marketing for Dummies” on the production of their book. Not only are they quite complementary, but good reads. I’d add these two, plus Steve Garfield’s and Greg Jarboe’s to the video marketer’s book shelf. If you’d like a video overview of the book with a customer example, you can find it at http://www.pixability.com/pixabilitytv#pixtv20.
