Want Your Ad to Go Old-Spice Viral? You’re More Likely to Develop Abs Like Isaiah Mustafa.
When I see my sweet AdAge pour more gas on the “Old-Spice goes viral” story, I feel like it’s time to remind my fellow marketers that they’ve got a better shot of developing (the shirtless actor) Isaiah Mustafa‘s abs than getting their TV or online-video spot viral. This is another excellent example of the exception…
Popular YouTube Poster Gets “Account Disabled” and Fights Back
MissJackie (see her MySpace) was “permanently disabled” from YouTube. Now she’s fighting back. Here’s her “YouTube Sucks” video. Miss Jackie, 26, lives in Philadelphia and hosts LickMyAnus.net. Dinner Time for Kitty happens to be my favorite of her work. How do you interview for a job and not worried that someone will find this and…
Larry King vs Some Dude on the Internet
Larry King gets about 1.2 million viewers a night. This guy, Sxephil, has been seen 14 million times in the past month. The YouTube “star” will average 1 million views per day soon. Larry King is well known, can be found easily on the large monitor you call a television. He’s been in lots of…
God Inc. Pitching Networks
Francis Stokes, creator of “God Inc.” posted this video to update us about pitching the show to networks. God Inc. is a series that portrays Heaven as a company. This clip contains a hysterical spoof of the perils of pitching television. I met and interviewed Francis when I was in LA, and he’s as cool…
The Secret Formula for Viralacticy
Some call it “virality.” YouTube Broker called it Viralaliscicy. Let’s call it “Viralacticy,” a play on viral and “elasticity.” What’s the formula for viralacticy of a viral video advertising? It’s simple. Punch x Message = Impact. Scenario 1: Let’s say for instance, that we had a viral ad that delivers a killer punch. (Punch is…
Doritos Consumer Generated Ad
Stop motion triumphs in a Doritos CGA ad contest. It’s called “Doritos Tribe” and I can’t figure out how they got the Doritos to stand up. I kinda like this “Screen Test” entry better because the guy seems so likable and it surprised me. Of course the 2007 checkout girl still takes the crunch. Hey-…

Man. I’m a Mac user and I found that rather offensive. Geez. Leave Bill alone with the Apple/Linux vs Microsoft. It’s old and tired already.
You could have done so much more with this opportunity. How about maybe asking him about his foundation and how he’s looking to help children around the world.
Pretty sad state of affairs when you use a kid to say “I like Linux” to Bill Gates.
Sue him? SUE him? Bill Gates could have him eaten…with wasabe.
But Nalts is not afraid.
I’m not entirely stupid. I had my 4-year-old grab his wallet before he left. Helloooooo amazon.com.
Bill Gates impersonators are a dime a dozen. Only Elvis has more. This guy could maybe pass for a 30ish Bill Gates, but he’s definitely not the almost 50ish version we see today. Nice try, nonetheless.
Do you honestly think I have budget for a real Bill Gates impersonator? This guy just happened to look like him and he obliged to this video. Interestingly enough, he’s in the software business and visits Microsoft. They often think he’s an impersonator.
I didn’t realize how young he looked relative to Gates until I found some recent photo of the Microsoft founder. Maybe I should have put some makeup on this guy.
