Online Video Site Moves to API. Is Instantly Rendered Obsolete by JEFDSI.
So Revver announced that it’s running on API now. But it looks the same (except you see Revver logos before thumbnails load). So you’ll have to take their word for it:
From the Revver blog: “You’ve heard us mention this thing that is called an Application Programming Interface (“API”). That is, a set of services of instructions used to standardize an application. In Revver-speak it is a way for 3rd parties to build websites of their own using our technology to serve videos, syndicate videos, and utilize our reporting and tracking services. And now, to prove that our API is robust enough to handle such a mother load, we are using it to power our own site – Revver.com, which we’re now calling “Revver Classic.” Revver.com may look the same but trust us, it isn’t. It looks the same and works the same as the old Revver but it’s running on completely new technology – the Revver API. And it’s the first site to do it.”
That would be impressive if anyone knew what API was. We think you made it up. And it’s not nearly as cool as java-script enabled flash dynamic serving interface (JEFDSI). That’s what my CubeBreak is using. It looks the same to the technologically shallow, but underneath the display and source code are databases drawing from multichannel virtual tributaries, which allow for ad-drop multiplexing of sub-rate traffic.
- Zing, Micki.
- Eat my code, Rob.
- See you at the next round of financing, Starr.
- Hi, Alex. Umm. How’s the tattoo?
You just made that JEFDSI up didn’t you!? I want multiplexing tributaries, too! Does that run on regular or deisel?
Deisel. And it makes a really loud sound like my dad’s Peugot. Which fortunately alerted me and my siblings that he was approaching so we could hide the contraband.
So now Cubebreak is running on the Peugot of software, eh?
“but underneath the display and source code are databases drawing from multichannel virtual tributaries, which allow for ad-drop multiplexing of sub-rate traffic”…do what??
Didn’t sound believable? Dang- I was trying my biggest words.
