I Miss Scoring Videos With Copyrighted Music
I miss scoring my videos with copyrighted music. I made a video for some friends (not for the web) the other day, and it was so fun to drop my favorites songs in without fear. For instance, I desperately want to score a video with Paul Soniat’s album, “Born in New Orleans.”
I’m getting off topic here, but I had to blog about this… I just ordered Soniat’s earlier album from CDBaby.com. Check out the “confirmation” note I got titled “CD Baby Loves Kevin” (click more below).

I score with copywrited material all the time. Never had a lick of fear about it either. But then again, I don’t make any money off my videos. Guess it’s an even trade.
Revver will filter it if they catch you. And you’re liable since almost anywhere you post videos has you checking a box that you have rights to the content (even though the courts are likely to go after the sites before the small content posters). Eventually an individual will get sued to made an “example of,” and paranoia will set in like when the Napster fear swept the country. What? You’re using Napster? You’re gonna get sueeeed!
