Boobies vs. Abused Animals (KFC PR Nightmare)
There are two things we know about videos.
Boobies and animals are adored. You want to piss people off? Throw a puppy from a cliff. You want to get a video seen? Put boobies on the thumbnail image.
Ladies and gentleman of the public jury, KFC may not be facing the worse public relations ever. But when I saw this Pam Anderon KFC Cruelty video today (this particular version uploaded by popular YouTuber TheHill88), my “spidey sense” tells me the worst is ahead.
You don’t have to be an advocate for big boobies OR PETA to watch this video and decide not to eat KFC for at least a few weeks. Stories about abused, deformed and slaughtered chickens can anger people. But video turns it visceral: like the difference between hearing about a car accident and seeing one. My keyboard and I are really glad I happened to have a veggie wheatbread pizza for lunch.
This slaughter montage is not new, but it’s certainly compelling and picking up steam. This version of the KFC/Anderson YouTube video is the 5th highest-ranked Google result for KFC, and features a thumbnail of a deformed chicken and more than 400,000 views. Do a search on YouTube for KFC and sort by date if you don’t take my word for it.
Here’s the KFC Cruelty website, which ranks fourth on a Google search for KFC. And here’s KFC’s Animal Welfare Program (somewhat hard to find on the KFC’s official homepage). The public will determine KFC guilty until proven innocent, but I’ve got my money on boobies and animals versus a fast-food restaurant. I imagine the KFC trademark attorneys are looking back at last week’s Onion Feedbag parody, and forgetting why they even got upset.
P.S. Let the record show that, according to Wikipedia, Colonel Sanders was neither a colonel nor a slave owner, even though he did refer to KFC’s gravy as “sludge” with a “wallpaper taste.”
I was never a big fan of KFC; now even less so. This may be a PR nightmare for them, but don’t bet on a sudden increase in vegetarians. Man is a carnivore by nature and that will never change.
I agree that this video shows incredibly inhumane treatment of chickens, but keep in mind that they are bred to be killed. That doesn’t excuse the abuse they are put through, however.
man, that was hard to watch.
I don’t know when’s the last time I had KFC, pretty sure I quit after hearing about the batter fried rat in a bucket. I applaud citizen hill88 for putting this on her channel, you too nalts, it was noble and demonstrates the power of this medium; wish more partners did this on occasion. If KFC makes the changes because of this it’s assured their prices will go up. Unfortunately, there always seems to be a higher costs involved for the decent treatment of animals and the protection of humans. No doubt there will be some people who will think such practices are a form of pampering and isn’t really worth a few pennies more.
One thing I was surprised the video left out, was the chemically loaded feed (tons of strange hormones) that they give these birds stays in the flesh and ends up effecting the humans who eat them, especially children. [click]
Well, thanks for the heads up. That’s one video I won’t be watching.
I’m 15 and I’ve been a vegetarian for 11 months now. The second I learned how animals were treated in factory farms, I stopped eating them.
Humans do not need to eat animals to survive & be healthy. In fact, a vegetarian life style reduces heart disease, obesity etc… Everyone should care enough about animals to NOT eat them. Think about it… Would you eat hamburgers if you had to kill the cow yourself? Then… make the hamburger *from* the cow yourself? Is it worth it?
I don’t think so.
I’m more interested in the abuse of humans by these soulless corporations, like patient dumping, but I guess there is human abuse by these fast food joints in how they’re poisoning the food supply. Wanna hurl? Look at a salmon farm film.
For some reason I am hungry for some fried chicken. I only eat food that cries.
I saw a documentary called meat and that did me in, can’t remember the last time I had a cow or pig – but I do go out of my way for organic bird and fish – it costs a little more, but it does taste better and seems to go farther, probably because it’s usually fresher – the bad part is, if you go to a party and they serve the stuff out of the freezer your system forgets how to digest it, screws up your metabolic so you have to eat a lot more veggies and bring the tums.
I know some hunters and bio farmers, seen them slaughter animals, it’s not something I’d choose as a career, but I understand their POV and knowing the animals had a good life and treated well does make a difference.
I understand where mdj is coming from, I saw that on cnn [click] – how we treat the least of theses is all I can say
I eat meat and will no matter how many boobies tell me not to.
So you’re antiboobietarian?
LMAO@ Nutcheese!
Efficiency = cheap food.
My kids are raising chickens for a 4-H project. Supposedly they’re going to make eggs one day, but right now they just eat our strawberries and poop on the patio. The eggs, when and if they ever come, will be the most expensive I have ever purchased.
Cut out the middleman: set the chickens free and eat the strawberries yourself.
YOU CITY SLICKERS……BET YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN ON A FARM OR EVER LOOKED AT YOUR ”CANINE” TEETH!!! WE EAT MEAT!!!! YOU STUPID BUNCH OF MORONS!!! ALWAYS TELLING US WHAT TO DO, HOW TO EAT, HOW TO DRESS…..BLAH ,BLAH, BLAH. I’M REALLY GOING TO LISTEN TO ,”PAM”, …THE BIGGEST ”SLUT” IN TOWN. AFTER A HARD DAY OF WORKING CONSTUCTION, THE LAST THING I WANT IS A BOWL OF LETTUCE. UMMM, I THINK I’LL GET SOME CHICKEN, A STEAK, COLD BEER, AND A PACK OF CIGARETTS. THEN SIT BACK AND WATCH ALL YOU .”VEG NUTS” EAT YOUR BROCOLI.
