Top 20 Video Sharing Sites
Another comprehensive review of online video sites. Someone needs to make a “top 20 list of online video site reviews.” Maybe I’ll do that. Tomorrow.

What are the best free online-resources to help you create a film look with a digital camera (even a $500 HD-SLR camera will do the trick). While writing my last post about how to create film-like effects using an HDSLR camera within a budget, I realized there’s loads of great articles, blogs, video tutorials, discussion boards and…
Axe is going quite a bit sexier this year with the “hot Christmas” video greeting card. You can personalize it on Facebook. Two girls in lingerie or bathing suits, and they’re riding a mechanical deer. I’m going to have to say it’s far more interesting than a dude in a towel… even if the special…
Dear readers, I don’t ask much from you. Free blog, no advertising. But I need your vote for the Valleywag “hot boys” contest. I’m getting my ass kicked. Not that that there’s anything wrong with losing one of these. It happened to Micki Krimmel. My ego just can’t handle losing by a landslide. That would…
Caitlin Hill, known online as TheHill88, received NYC’s National Arts Club’s prestigious “Medal of Honor” this week (see press release which I just finished toiling over because I’m consulting with Hitviews. The 20-year-old Australian video creator joins former medal recipients Tennessee Williams, Arthur Miller, Leonard Bernstein, Salvador Dali, and Martin Scorcese. Three US Presidents have…
A “trip” down memory lane thanks to hours of YouTube searching and RetruJunk.com Electric Company Intro Zoom Then there’s HR Puffnstuff (see Drugachussets parody). Reading Rainbow (Rhett and Link do a great version of this) Land of the Lost intro Little House on the Prairie (Jo loved it, I hated it) The Muppet Show
You burried your lead, Heather. Check out- “Whose Video Is It, Anyway” is a recent article by Heather Green of Business Week. The most interesting part of the article from my perspective is this… Turns out the creator of the famous “Mentos/Diet Coke” experiment (www.eepybird.com), who has earned probably close to $50K by now (my…

Here are the one’s I like.
Atom Films – higher quality more professional films, revenue sharing
Reel to reel – higher quality, more professional videos.
Revver – opportunity for revenue sharing but difficult to get exposure for your video. No groups to join that I could find. They take any video except hard porn. There is some sort of review process for selecting videos for Verizon VCast that in my opinion is not very good. The majority of their videos on V-cast aren’t that great even though they have lots of great stuff avilable on their site that they could use instead. The contests are interesting and fun.
Flixya – opportunity for revenue sharing but difficult to expose your video. Haven’t seen any contests yet. No groups to join.
Friendster- Very difficult to embed a video from another site. It can be done, but only in a round about way.
Jumpcut – bad quality video but best web design by far. It’s the best site for getting videos viewed by others), more contests than all others I have seen. By far, the most fun. The major two downfals are the you can’t embed videos from other sites, and the quality is not as good as others mentioned above.
Magnify.net – This is best for small private groups. Don’t expect high exposure from the groups within this site.
Here is a link to a very good discussion anout the top sharing sites. I found it quite useful and didn’t see anything that I disagreed with. The only thing I would add is that Jumpcut’s web design is superior. However, their video quality is not nearly as good as the majority of their competitors, and there is no way to wornload a video from their site.
