Join The Nalts & Friends “Get Your Groove Back” Club (free)
This comment from long-time WillVideoForFood.com back-row participant Reubnick: “Nalts, you and I both need to get our groove back. 2009 was not a good year for Reubnick. My advice for you is to find another giant flightless bird in the road and be surprised at it again. That is still my favorite video of yours.”…
Two Frogs and a Donations Cup
He’s not homeless, reports Shira Lazar, but his Kermit the Frog “Under Pressure” duet entertained and spawned charity. The David Bowie & Queen homage brought in more than 900,000 views… but only 16 subscribers oddly.
YouTube Cewebrity Dance Off
Leave it to the hyper talented Davideo Designs (see his website at www.davideodesign.co.uk) to create this magically delicious “YouTube Celebrity Dance-Off” competition. The poor guy solicited clips from YouTubers, and patienty waited. Finally he decided to go with special effects listed below. After SMPFilms decided to bust me in his recent video (which will probably…
Vlogger Has “Life Threatening” Experience… Gets Footage & Lives to Vlog About It
So at about 12:30 today I had an anaphylactic fit (which can be terminal if you don’t get epinephrine in time). Two years ago I had my first, and got to the hospital inside an hour– and was fine. This time we drove there inside 20 minutes and my breathing started to get restricted and…
Geek Squad Driver Goes Ape
Yesterday I was driving home and spotted a Geek Squad van (Geek Squad is a computer repair division of retailer Best Buy). I thought it would be fun to create a video where I play a fictional Geek Squad hero responding to farcical “help calls,” so I shot some footage of the Geek Squad van….
Nalts on Cover of “Wired” Magazine
I’ve been critized lately about having a big head. Naturally I can’t resist satirizing criticism. So here’s the ultimate manifestation of my big head. My cover story on Wired Magazine. Thanks to JD Lasica‘s Social Media blog for helping me find the “Make Your Own Wired Cover” promotion by Xerox.

Thank you. I thought I was the only dope that took videos while driving. Now I can finally tell my wife I’m not the only one! And I don’t even read!
But seriously, get THEPod (www.thepod.ca). Best in-car gadget I own (and the only one). Works great with the camera and can withstand high-speed turns (with some assistance from one of those little sticky-gel-pad-thingies).
Best part? Everything. Because I’ve done it all (including driving with your teeth and driving off the side of the road while taping).
No teeth on the wheel here, but it’s the favorite in-car video I’ve made:

We finally get to see the man behind the TK initials. Sorry about Uncle Irv.
I’m not sure I can afford a http://www.thepod.ca, but thanks for reminding me about the sticky gel pad. At least that will keep the camera from rolling away. I’ve found the dashboard videos easier than the “hide the camera from the tollbooth guy” ones. In that case I stack a camera on top of a stack of my dry cleaning. It’s very adjustable and usually stays put. Trickiest part is pulling up to the right spot so he’s in frame.
I’ve got all my props together for my YouTube bubble burst video I’m shooting on the drive home. If I don’t upload or post in a while it’s because I swerved off the road trying to make it today.
Wow, Revver must not be paying well. Mine (red version) was only about $20. But you could make your own. It’s nothing more than a mini-beanbag for your camera. Just don’t open them. It’s hell to close them and keep all those beads inside.
Thanks for the condolences. And yes, that was one of my few on-camera scenes. Unlike you, I prefer to stay BEHIND the camera.
Back to my post at work.
