Naked Cheese (updated!)
Naked cheese video. See explanation below. This explanation will be deleted in 24 hours. A PROFOUND apology to WillVideoForFood readers. The idea of a pure cheese video was spawned from this post about 3 rules of viral video. I got a “dare you to make a video about cheese” note from a regular WVFF contributor…
QuadSpot Interviews Viral Video Genius
And TheQuadSpot interviewed me for a surprisingly polished show for amateurs. Watch. Again it’s free. Seriously I’m just going to blog about myself for a while. It’s what bloggers do, right? I had a chicken sandwich on Weight Watchers bread. I’m down more than 20 pounds since I shot The Unlicensed Therapist. As Zipster08 might…
Google Chrome Engineers: Step Away from the Camera
This is a real Google Chrome operating system promotion created by engineers and posted on YouTube. The good news? They set a low bar for consumers to create their own YouTube commercials. And maybe that thankless job of being a Google marketer will improve, as the product and engineer-driven company may finally recognize marketing as…
Tech Market Cliffs: Walmart Vudu the “Bing” of Online-Video Rentals
Check it out. Walmart’s Vudu rentals is like the Bing of online-video rental. That means it’s #3, but by such a distance it almost doesn’t matter. iTunes has 65% share, followed by Zune video marketplace at 16% (a surprising 15.9 percent more than I would have guessed). Vudu is third, and while it’s up from…
Another Online Video Show About… Online Video
Next New Networks is debuting an online-video show about online video. Googleburn, which appears each Wednesday is: “the sting in your eyes when you’ve been ogling online videos all night and it’s 6 AM on Monday and oh dear lord you can’t see anything because the Internet blasted you with whiteout,” says host Nick Douglas…
Internet’s Most-Viewed Live Hair Transplant
Well now I’ve seen everything. It seems Greg Benson, the follicularly challenged brains behind MediocreFilms has selected Earth’s best hair-transplant doctor to update his Bosley transplant (see video). With more than 13,000 live viewers via the Internet, this would indeed make hair-transplant history. Dr. Alan Bauman, who you may know as SurgeonOfNalts, did the work……

Thank you. I thought I was the only dope that took videos while driving. Now I can finally tell my wife I’m not the only one! And I don’t even read!
But seriously, get THEPod (www.thepod.ca). Best in-car gadget I own (and the only one). Works great with the camera and can withstand high-speed turns (with some assistance from one of those little sticky-gel-pad-thingies).
Best part? Everything. Because I’ve done it all (including driving with your teeth and driving off the side of the road while taping).
No teeth on the wheel here, but it’s the favorite in-car video I’ve made:

We finally get to see the man behind the TK initials. Sorry about Uncle Irv.
I’m not sure I can afford a http://www.thepod.ca, but thanks for reminding me about the sticky gel pad. At least that will keep the camera from rolling away. I’ve found the dashboard videos easier than the “hide the camera from the tollbooth guy” ones. In that case I stack a camera on top of a stack of my dry cleaning. It’s very adjustable and usually stays put. Trickiest part is pulling up to the right spot so he’s in frame.
I’ve got all my props together for my YouTube bubble burst video I’m shooting on the drive home. If I don’t upload or post in a while it’s because I swerved off the road trying to make it today.
Wow, Revver must not be paying well. Mine (red version) was only about $20. But you could make your own. It’s nothing more than a mini-beanbag for your camera. Just don’t open them. It’s hell to close them and keep all those beads inside.
Thanks for the condolences. And yes, that was one of my few on-camera scenes. Unlike you, I prefer to stay BEHIND the camera.
Back to my post at work.
