Hmmm… this might make more sense if I had ever seen SNL.
Landline has made some REALLY funny shit, but this came off as someone who has seen “Like A Boss” and “Tizzle Wizzle Show,” is irritated (and possibly jealous) by their success.
But then again I don’t think parodying humor works well at all. All the Dane Cook hatred from other comedians came off badly to me. I am not a big fan of Cook, nor do I dislike him, but honestly something that isn’t dumbing itself down and isn’t a ripoff of anything – why make fun of it? What is it doing wrong?
The only time I’ve really seen attacks on humorists that I found funny were from people stealing other people’s ideas or content (Carlos Mencia).
Maybe it’s because I like The Lonely Island and absurdism/surrealism in general. I can’t tell you for sure, but it seems like attacking a group that went from being three idiots laughing about random stuff to being the most successful web comedians bar none, who make consistently laugh-worthy (depending on your taste) and well-produced content (on top of being pretty good pop musicians) isn’t the best thing in the world where web comedy still isn’t honestly “legit.”
