Real Estate Agents Use Online Video Too

My mother-in-law is a real-estate agent in Abington, PA., and is selling her house. Months ago she showed me a trade magazine that advocated that agents post their listings online. Now, via VidYourBiz she’s listing her own house.

Yes, folks, you can own the lovely house in Clarks Summit, PA where Wifeofnalts was raised.

  1. That’s actually probably a great way to sell a house; even better than those 360 degree photos some sites have. Maybe this should be your niche market?

  2. Funny you should post this… I just finished video work on a “For Sale By Owner” house in Ellsworth, Maine. (Link) Take a look, see whatcha think. I plan to be doing many more of these.

We wanted to do more than just the typical “video tours” with the slow panning of the camera around every room, so I wrote an actual script from the point of view of the owners talking directly to the prospective buyers, to help convey more emotion…

I think there’s a LOT of potential to produce even MORE entertaining home tours. What if, rather than having the agent (no offense intended to WoN’s Mom) on camera, you had a “personality” of some sort? Someone known, someone who the camera “loves”, or what-have-you…

Viral Video Home Tours… Hmmmm… I’m gonna go noodle with this.

You wanna talk more, you call me, yes? Yes. Good.

  3. I like this idea! A franchiseable name and concept! Give MLS a run for their money and drag them kicking and screaming into the 21st century.
