Liked your take on this, Nalts. As I blogged here(http://www.beaupre.com/blog/index.cfm/2008/7/1/BMWs-viral-Rampenfest-campaign–thumbs-up), I couldn’t find actual members of the consuming public who were outraged by BMW’s staying in character. Are they still mad at their parents about the Santa Claus conspiracy? Whatever you think of the film, the event planner rocked! BMW: please spin him off!

beautifully filmed and that’s about it for me. I thought the actors were pretty good, low key wise and they convinced me they were Bavarian, but the teeth let you know it was a joke throughout. What was missing, what I needed to suspend believe was a real passion for the idea from one person, someone who could come up with such an extravagance, a character I really believed in. So for me the joke went on too long. Then again, I never thought much of Spinal Tap; a film that was way too long. I suppose this is brilliant from a marketing POV, nice budget coupled with a quirky idea. However, I admit that I’m silently giggling at the concept: a red BMW flung across land and water to the US via a giant Ramp. When I think about how they came up with that concept and I have to wonder, were they high?
