When i head conan obrien mention “Milf” recently,i knew it was mainstream,and now Nalts? OMFG he said MILF! LMAO………MDJ have u tried shareapic? They only pay like .22 cpm,but they are ranked around 1300 on alexa,and u can mass upload photos,with no tags,their search works by description only.check it out ,i left a link to my landlords 64 1/2 mustang……..later days and better lays,omfg,did i just say that? {:-O

regarding renetto…I don’t think he’s lying. He looked pretty upset with himself for removing the videos…like he cut his nose off to spite his face and now he seems really happy to have the videos back.

I don’t think they gave Renetto special treatment prior to his popularity, so there are a few options.

1. Renetto lied or isn’t very smart and set them only to private.
What say you Paul!? Remember you’re a Christian.

2. You Tube or serverbeach.com burned all the RAID Servers and Tape Backups shortly after Renetto became popular and only saved his stuff for the sake of posterity.

3. Google/YouTube doesn’t want to deal with the thousands of requests for original videos formats, not to mention the potential law suits, so they lie or obfuscate the storage issue, even to their employees.

Bottom line: It’s compressed data, they probably used silos (wiki: tape library) and given that You Tube is now part of Google their storage costs are minimal. You Tube should also have on hand or have access to all the taped archives from servebeach.com. Google throws nothing away. I expect them to buy Yucca Mountain as a future archival storage unit.

Just want to mention both Blip and Revver allow creators access to their originals.

If Renetto did talk You Tube into replacing his deleted images then You Tube needs to provide that service to all of its users OR they should add a specific line stating they won’t in their TOS. Least until they face a law suit that says they must, then they will charge you for the service.

One last thing, Google has dodged all sorts of potential privacy and copy right regulations simply because government can’t keep up with the changes in technology and they have some savvy lawyers. Google likes it that way.

Just speculation on my part MDJ…it’s quite obvious that partner accounts are maintained differently than regular user accounts, and given who renetto is and the standing he’s seemed to have with YT for so long, i’m just saying that I think it’s not outside the realm of possibility that they backed up the account on a regular basis. Going through the old videos all of the comments, ratings, responses; from the few I looked at they seem to be intact. Of course it’s also a likely possibility is that he set all of the videos to private and then just chose to make them all public again in a well orchestrated stunt, but we all know he would never do something like that. Really, all there are is questions, and there may be only one person that has answers.

So either Steve Chen, the Youtube customer relations clerks jis talked with and/or Renetto is lying and/or manipulating the truth.

According to an interview I seem to remember watching, I think it was Steve Chen that said they have stored a copy of all vids uploaded to YT before they were converted and that eventually they would all be converted over to HD when YT implemented the capability. I wouldn’t even want to proffer a guess as to what size their datacenters run, but i’m sure it’s impressive no doubt, and now with the backing of the GOOG I wouldn’t think something like that would be beyond their reach.
