Live Help on YouTube: Customer Support and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

November 13, 2007

YouTube is now offering live technical support via NALTS: North American Live Tube Support. It’s a volunteer-based system where you can get help with common YouTube problems such as file upload requirements, registration problems, account suspension problems, and other frequently asked YouTube questions.

To demo the live support feature, see Help: Live YouTube Technical Support. You’ll need to be registered before they can help you.

P.S. When you’re done, see the video to which it responds. And my strategy worked. It’s now the first video you’ll find if you search “help” on YouTube. :)

Excellent job Nalts. I’m sure that will really help new YouTubers. Isn’t it interesting how their support acronym just happens to be your user name? How’d that happen?

Okay I really liked this video because it generated a lot of viewer participation. Even cooler, I can see that Nalts has responded to a TON of comments. However, for almost 24 hours, none of Nalts’ replies are showing up as actual replies to comments – there’s just a whole long list of nalts replies, one after the other.

Now I must admit, it’s been kind of fun to read them and try to figure out what they’re responding to, but geez, this is a real pain in the ass, and I’ve noticed it seems to happen on videos that get a lot of comments. Most of the time, if a video has more than 350 comments I won’t even try to read them because of this problem. Are others seeing this too?

Why are my STEREO MP3s for my music videos uploading to YouTube and playing as MONO? What can I do to assure they play STEREO? Thanx.
