Web-Only Video Comedy Spoofs Home Shopping Network

hcp.jpgHome Purchasing Club is a new web-only video series by cast members of Saturday Night Live, The Groundlings, Napoleon Dynamite, The Drew Carey Show and Office Space. Spoofing ridiculous home shopping network segments, HPC just launched its first episode as part of VH1’s V-Spot player on and will premiere new episodes on the site every Monday for the next six weeks.

Cast includes:

  • Developed and directed by Emmy-Award winner Brian K. Roberts.
  • Diedrich Bader – the DREW CAREY SHOW & NAPOLEON DYNAMITE & OFFICE SPACE.
  • Kristen Wiig – Saturday Night Live & the the new Judd Apatow film “Knocked Up.”
  • Sean Masterson – Series creator, credits include Second City , Drew Carey’s improv all stars
  • Joel McCrary – “CARS”, “OVER THE HEDGE” “PRINCESS DIARY” MOVIES.
  • Jonathan Mangum – DREW CAREY SHOW, WAYNE BRADY SHOW, RENO 911 and the upcoming Rob Reiner/Jack Nicholson film “The Bucket List.”

  1. I’m not that impressed. These are professionals, getting paid well to make these short videos –and this is the best they could do? I know it’s not fair to judge them on one video, but I didn’t laugh.
    Seriously; they had a decent-sized budget, a team of experienced writers and comedians, and at least a week to come up with a funny 3-minute video. I should have been rolling on the floor laughing.

    Please don’t take this as me just being a hater; my sense of humor isn’t broken, I laugh at a lot of stuff (crying children, dead puppies, burn victims, et cetera), but when I clicked on the video I expected something better. I’m disappointed. Now if you excuse me, I’m gonna go cry and watch my “Kids in the Hall” dvd.

    Much funnier than dead puppies or burn victims!

    But maybe that’s just me…
