Hitwise recently released a report of the market share of online video websites between February and December 2006. Hitwise gets its data on the traffic of about 15MM U.S. surfers via ISP data.
We see a huge jump for MySpace in March (believe that’s when they dropped YouTube and got their own player?) and another big lift for Google Video in August (when they made “video” part of the Google homepage search feature.
Metacafe’s market share increased 133% between March and September 2006.
