Avid  announced the grand prize winner and five runners-up from its video contest that challenged entrants to capture their passions and tell a story, via video, within 60 seconds. More than 200 people entered. Taking viewers on a cross-country road trip, Brian Sharpe, a 27 year-old independent filmmaker from Chicago, IL, won the grand prize with a timelapse video titled “From Chicago to Vegas in 60 Seconds.” It's a really cool piece, and it scored him an all expenses paid trip to the NAB 2006 conference in Las Vegas and a free copy of the latest Avid Xpress® Pro software (a professional film, video and audio editing, effects creation and DVD authoring tool).
